Formed deep within the Earth over billions of years, these genuine gems are composed of pure carbon, crystallized under immense heat and pressure, making each unique.

Natural diamonds take one to three billion years to form deep within the Earth's mantle, where extreme heat and pressure transform carbon into these rare gemstones. Volcanic eruptions bring them closer to the surface, where they are mined from kimberlite pipes or alluvial deposits. While natural diamonds are prized for their uniqueness and rarity, their extraction comes with challenges.

Environmental and Ethical Concerns:

  • Open-pit and underground mining – Large-scale operations that remove vast amounts of earth to access diamond-bearing rock.

  • Alluvial mining – Collecting diamonds from riverbeds and coastal areas, where natural forces have transported them.

  • Marine mining – Harvesting diamonds from the ocean floor using specialized equipment.

  • Environmental Impact – Mining can lead to deforestation, habitat destruction, and soil erosion.

  • Water and Energy Use – Mining operations consume significant amounts of water and fossil fuels.

  • Ethical Issues – In some regions, diamond mining has been linked to exploitative labor practices and conflict financing ("blood diamonds").
